What We Value

WHAT WE VALUE

All communities have values that tell them how to live. Here’s what is important to us.

Truthfulness of the Bible - The Bible is the written record of God's self-revelation. It is authoritative in our lives and guides all that we do. It is God-breathed, profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

Centrality of Jesus - Every aspect of the ministry of University Heights focuses on the person and work of Jesus. He is the reason we exist. He is our light and life. We desire to know Him, be like Him, and make Him known to the world.

Ministry of all Believers - Everyone in a personal relationship with Jesus is called to minister. Therefore, everything we do at University Heights is an outgrowth of the individual callings and spiritual gifts of the members of the church. We are a people on mission—not a collection of events.

Importance of the Family - God designed the family as the primary place for spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social nurture. We do everything we can to strengthen and support families while being a loving church family for all people.

Necessity of Prayer - Everything we do at University Heights is birthed from and bathed in prayer. Prayer is constant communication with God in which we adore Him and seek His inspiration, guidance, and power in our lives and ministries.

Unity of the Body - A primary way we testify about Jesus is by loving one another. By God’s grace, we make room for one another, forgive one another, hold each other accountable, and work for the benefit of others before ourselves. We hope to always display the love of Jesus by the way we interact with one another.

Priority of Caring - At University Heights, we focus on meeting needs in the real world. In the name of Jesus, we desire to meet spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social needs for the glory of God and the benefit of our fellow man.
